Within the Maverick Universe, one understands we have one life to live. The philosophy of living one life is one of our unique core principles. We look to live one life versus living a compartmentalized existence. The idea is to create a life where all parts are integrated. Where there is a fluid congruently between work, play, family, friends and other aspects of our life. This means that individuals do not have to sacrifice one part of their life for another they can enjoy a fulfilling balance of life with all parts blended together in harmony. Let's explore this philosophy in detail.Paul Finck:
The difference between that and compartmentalization, examples of where it will show up in your world, why it's so important and tips on how to create this in your life. What is the difference between living one life and compartmentalization in your world? Compartmentalization is the act of dividing one's life into separate compartments or sections. This can mean separating work life from personal life for keeping family and friends separate from one's professional life. The problem with compartmentalization is that it can lead to a lack of integration between different aspects of our life. Can you imagine how this could induce stress or tension when one is forced to shift from one department to another over and over again.Paul Finck:
Unfortunately, most of our society is unaware of the challenge that they're facing every day and they tend to do it readily creating this stress. I live this way for many years, almost decades. When I was in medical and dental field long before I created the life I now have my associates my clients never knew my wife and kids. At best they would meet them once or twice a year, briefly at company outings before I would duck away early because I just wanted to be with my family. On the other hand, living one life with full integration of all aspects of one's life into a cohesive whole creates an ease of existing allowing a sense of harmony and balance in one's life. That is my world now where my family hangs out with me during work and play where my clients are my friends and all come together easily and readily allowing me to easily navigate a joyful life.Paul Finck:
Living one life congruently can show up in different ways and even different parts of one's life. For example, in the workplace and individual can integrate their personal values and interests into their work. This can mean pursuing work that aligns with their personal beliefs and interests, or finding a way to bring their personal life into their work life. It could also mean building relationships with clients that extend far beyond the workplace creating a sense of community and friendship. In a personal life living one life can mean integrating different areas of one's personal life as well. For example, one can involve their work associates and family and friends, both in their hobbies and interests, which may also be their job, making it a shared experience at all levels. Can you imagine what this would be like?Paul Finck:
You can use your personal interest to help others such as teaching a skill to a family member or a friend or business associate. You see once you tear down the barriers we have constructed, we readily see new options for our world. Living one life is essential for achieving a sense of balance and fulfillment in life. When individuals compartmentalize their life they tend to sacrifice one part for another. This inevitably leads to stress, anxiety and burnout. We see it every day. Integrating all aspects of one's life can help individuals feel more fulfilled and satisfied and well happy. It can also lead to more holistic approach to life, where individuals are better able to recognize and address their needs in all areas of their world. Let's explore further. Here's what I mean.Paul Finck:
Work life balance. If an individual compartmentalizes their work and personal life, they may find it challenging to balance their work responsibilities with their personal obligations, conflicts will arise continuously. The tendency to feel guilty when you're at work, that you're not at home and guilty when you're at home over not getting things done at work. This can lead to stress burnout, a sense of being overwhelmed even, never being happy no matter what happens.Paul Finck:
In contrast, if an individual integrates their personal life into their work in vice versa, they may find it easier to achieve healthy work life balance leading to greater overall wellbeing. In relationships if an individual compartmentalizes they may find it difficult to build strong, meaningful connections with others. If someone keeps their professional and personal relationships separate, they may miss out on opportunities to build deeper, more meaningful relationships with colleagues.Paul Finck:
In contrast, an individual that integrates their relationships both personal and business, they may find that they can build stronger connections across different areas of their life, leading to more fulfilling social life and including with hobbies and interests.Paul Finck:
If an individual compartmentalizes their hobbies and interests, they may struggle to find time to pursue them to carry passions over them. If someone only engages in their hobbies during their personal time, they may find it difficult to make time for them due to competing priorities. As I've been saying, in contrast, an individual who integrates their family, their friends, their hobbies, their interests, their work and their personal life, they're gonna find it easier to make time for all things and love to create satisfaction enjoyment in their life.Paul Finck:
How about health and wellness? If an individual compartmentalizes their health and wellness, they may struggle to prioritize self care and maintenance of healthy habits. If someone only focuses on their physical health during gym hours, they may not take care of themselves in other areas or other times in their life, thus neglecting nutrition and then stress management and mental health. In contrast, if and individual integrates their health and wellness into their work and personal life, it becomes easier to maintain overall and prioritize self care as well as staying focused on what they want and will accomplish in their world.Paul Finck:
Overall living compartmentalize life can and will hurt an individual both in their balance in their relationships, in their hobbies, in their interests, as well as in their wellness and health. So how do we make all this magic happen in our life you ask? Here's some tips to get started right away.Paul Finck:
One, align your work with your personal values and interests. This helps you feel more passionate and engaged in your work, kind of like what Jerry Maguire did in the movie. His main character Jerry Maguire is a successful sports agent who experiences a crisis of consciousness and writes a manifesto calling for a more personal approach to business. He is fired instantly ended his job from his job and starts his own agency with the help of Dorothy Boyd and she's a single mom who becomes his business partner and eventually his love interest. The movie shows how Jerry integrates personal life and business life all together with not only Dorothy but also her son and integrates it all to create ultimate success.Paul Finck:
Number two, seek out opportunities to integrate your personal life into your work. If you love cooking it consider hosting a lunch or dinner party for your colleagues. Involve your co workers and Associates in your hobbies and interests. This can help create a sense of community and shared experience.Paul Finck:
Number three be intentional about creating a work life balance. This can mean setting boundaries on your time regardless of where it is being used business or personal, prioritizing self care and creating focus, effort for hobbies and interests outside of work.Paul Finck:
And number four, be open to new experiences opportunities. This can help you discover new passions and interests which can lead to a more fulfilling life. The Pursuit of Happiness the movie that tells the true story of Chris Gardner struggling salesperson who becomes homeless with his young son despite difficult circumstances, Chris is determined to provide a better life for his son and pursues a career of as a stockbroker. The movie shows how Chris integrates personal life and business life, including the relationship with his son into his determination and resilience to lead to success. have watched the movie with Julia Roberts Eat Pray Love. Where she's a successful writer who feels unfulfilled and unhappy with her life, decides to embark on a journey of self discovery traveling to Italy and India and Bali, where she explores different aspects of her personal life of her personality and interests. It shows our personal life including her love for food and spirituality and relationships, all integrates into her journey of self discovery, ultimately leading to more fulfilling and balanced life. All these examples are pieces of the puzzle for you.Paul Finck:
Understanding that when you integrate all of this when you integrate your values, your love for life, your passions, your hobbies, your interests, your associates, your colleagues here, your friends, your family. When you integrate all of this into your world, man, what a great life it can be. What a great life you can have without the boundaries and barriers and the compartmentalization that most people live within life becomes free, life becomes joyful, life becomes easy to navigate on a day to day basis. By integrating your personal interests, your passions, your love for life, all into what you do every day, you can create such a great world. As in movies and in life the main character integrates different aspects of their personal lives into their work into the passions relationship, you too can do this to create greater success, greater happiness overall. All the examples I've brought forward demonstrates how the philosophy of living as one fluid life can lead to a more satisfying and rewarding existence. Knowing this principle of a great life.Paul Finck:
Living one life where all parts are integrated, can lead to more fulfilling and balanced life. It requires intentionality, to align everything involving all your hobbies and interests, all your health and well being. By doing so you can achieve a sense of harmony, and balance forever.
